New Braunfels
5 Stones is small but nice. They have interesting beers with fruit flavors. No playground but we can sit outside and it's pretty chill.
5 Stones Artisan Brewery in New Braunfels is a small, family-owned brewery that stands out for its creative approach to craft beer. Founded by Seth and Leah Weatherly, this brewery focuses on unique, artisan-style beers that often incorporate fruits, spices, and herbs—making their offerings unlike anything else in the Hill Country.
For families, 5 Stones offers a cozy taproom with a relaxed vibe, plus a spacious outdoor patio area with picnic tables and shade. While there's no playground, the outdoor space gives kids room to move around, and the family-owned nature of the brewery means they're genuinely welcoming to visitors with children. Dogs are welcome too.
What makes 5 Stones special is their beer. The Aloha Piña (wheat beer with pineapple and hibiscus), Camo Pale Ale, and Norma Jeane (Belgian blonde with local honey and lavender) showcase their inventive style. They frequently experiment with seasonal releases featuring different fruits and flavors.
Food trucks visit regularly, and the brewery hosts events like live music and special beer releases. The intimate, artisan feel makes 5 Stones a nice change of pace from larger destination breweries.
If you're in New Braunfels and looking for something different—unique beers in a friendly, small-scale setting—5 Stones is worth the stop. Just know it's more of a casual hangout than an all-day family destination.
