Wimberley
Ghostnote is pretty fun! There's some space to play outside and run around. We like going there because it's outside and we can hang out while mom and dad try the beers.
Ghostnote Brewing sits on Ranch Road 12 between Wimberley and Dripping Springs, making it a convenient stop for families exploring the Texas Hill Country brewery scene. This newer addition to the area (opened in 2021) has carved out a niche with creative beers and a laid-back outdoor atmosphere that works well for families with kids.
The outdoor space at Ghostnote is the main draw for families. There's a small play area for kids, but more importantly, there's plenty of open outdoor space with room to spread out. Kids can run around while parents relax at picnic tables under the shade. The setting feels spacious and open—you won't feel cramped or like you're on top of other guests.
Dogs are welcome here, and the brewery regularly hosts live music on weekends, adding to the festive Hill Country vibe. Food trucks make appearances, so you can usually find something to eat while you're enjoying the beer selection.
Speaking of beer, Ghostnote takes their brewing seriously. Named after the subtle notes in music that add depth and complexity, the brewery focuses on creating beers with layered, nuanced flavors. Their Echo IPA and Rhapsody Red Ale are popular choices, and they frequently rotate seasonal and experimental offerings.
While Ghostnote may not have the sprawling acreage of some larger Hill Country breweries, it offers a solid family-friendly experience in a more intimate setting. If you're driving through the Wimberley-Dripping Springs corridor and looking for a relaxed spot to stop with kids, Ghostnote is worth checking out.
